Located in the heart of Paris on the ground floor of a beautiful Haussmannian building, the Fumoir opens its doors from 11 AM to 2 AM in a spacious, wooded, dimly lit, and warm atmosphere. The place is ideal for any occasion: business lunch, tea time, afternoon reading, after-work, or a romantic dinner; there\u2019s always a good reason to sit at the Fumoir. The interior setting is both chic and simple; wood, gilding, and large plush curtains adorn the space. The clientele is quite eclectic, sometimes featuring celebrities but often chic as well. It’s one of those places that remind us why Paris is so beautiful. <\/p>\n\n

Lunch<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The best table will be chosen in front of one of the huge windows overlooking the outside. Henrik Andersson, the head chef, offers healthy and creative cuisine with Scandinavian influences. A new menu is offered every week for lunch and dinner. The fish of the day and vegetarian dishes are available every day of the week. Be careful, when you step through the door of the Fumoir, you never know when you’ll come out; time passes very quickly there. <\/p>\n\n

In the evening, a different atmosphere.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

At the bar, jazzy music plays in the background, creating an atmosphere filled with high heels, white shirts, and trench coats, all more elegant than the last. The bar counter was found in Philadelphia. During Prohibition, it was one of the counters of Barney’s<\/strong>, the most famous local speakeasy<\/em><\/a>. Polished by the arms of all kinds\u2014bootleggers, judges, politicians… Today, Eric Chartron, the head bartender, and his team continue the tradition of East Coast cocktails. <\/p>\n\n

Chill or work<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

An afternoon working or reading in the calm of the library nestled at the back of the large room. You can borrow a book to read on-site or exchange it for a book you have already read. For those who prefer to dive into the news, a number of French and foreign newspapers are available. <\/p>\n\n
